From now on, the Chronocarto platform will be published using WordPress. This will improve the security of the site. WordPress also makes it easier to edit Chronocarto.
January 2026:
The AOROC laboratory is investing human resources and funding in the Chronocarto platform because we are convinced that, beyond traditional but necessary article-based publications, there is a place for offering recontextualised archaeological data.
In 2025, the Chronocarto site was visited more than 110,000 times (compared to 40,000 the previous year), a sign of growing interest in the visualisation of maps, atlases, excavation plans and furniture distribution maps.

For over two years, Chronocarto has been offering interactive data enhancement through interactive publications that editorialise annotated maps. This approach enhances the value of the data. For some projects, the data is available for download.
